More Garden News...hit the snooze button...

The wind was horrible, so just for fun we drove to Mt. Vernon to buy a couple of fruit trees with wind gusts at 40 MPH, the poor trees took a beating, but are now planted and look ok, ate at Jimmy John's, planted a few more strawberries and did weeding...glad the wind has calmed down somewhat.

Garden News....hold onto your seats!

The frost almost got my tomatoes last night, but I think they are ok, just a few places on a couple of leaves. We weeded the garden today, and my flower bed, made some brownies, and now I'm putting my hummingbird feeder out, since several of you have seen your birds coming back.....love my little hummingbirds..back to some warmer weather tomorrow.

Visit with bro, Milo and aunt Barbie

I had a great time with mom at my brother, Milo's and sis-in-law Barb's today. We had coffee and donuts and had a great visit. I came home with some chocolate mint and planted it in front of the house. Now trying to decide on either left overs or hamburgers and fries....I'm still thinking on that. I hope everyone is ...enjoying the beautiful sunshine today

Sunday Afternoon at the winery

wow, what a great afternoon we had at the Orchardview Winery in Alma. The place was packed and there was great music by Lex Shuler, Uncle Herschel and J.C. Clay, how fun! We also tried their new Harvest moon dark sweet grape wine...and made some new friends.A good time was had by all.

Good Bye Ugly Betty

I am really sad that UGLY BETTY was cancelled,, whaaaa! I don't watch much TV, but never missed an episode for 4 years, so good bye Betty, and wacky characters...guess they'll put another CSI show on in it's place.... :-(

Visiting old friends

Bill and I went to Dairy Queen and had lunch, then headed to Centralia, because he had to go to Ace Hardware, but the best part of the day was stopping in Sandoval to see some old friends from World Color,Brenda and Don Gordon, how fun it was to remember our years there, and to catch up with each other....

Warmer days are here again...

..I have been outside the last two days enjoying the weather, cooking over the firepit, and playing Scrabble with Bill. Today I went to mom's and watching Julie/Julia, excellent movie, like everyone said. So glad it's finally Spring after the cold gray winter....!!

Red Hat Birthday cake

I made a birthday cake for my Red Hat ladies tomorrow, it is the 7th year our group has been together....now, if I can just get it to the meeting in one piece.

Trying to get some exercise....no fun

I decided to ride my bike today, my legs were like jello, I had to stop at the grocery store for some refreshments...lol.

The gardening begins....

Today I transplanted into larger pots: tomatoes, cabbage, broccoli, did dishes, all of laundry, made marshmallow fondant, dessert, planted flower seeds, took a nap, and now am listening to Christina Aguilera's "Keeps getting better" on ipod...time to think about supper....

Happy Easter

Here's wishing everyone a very blessed Easter! Sadly, I won't be seeing any of my grand children tomorrow, but I baked a bunny cake anyway... it's not professional, just a "cut up cake" , remember when those were all the rage back in the 80's...such fun.we went to Dona's for Easter dinner and everyone had a piece of the Easter bunny, not a ear was left. It was great visiting with everyone.
