Church basement ladies

Went to Effingham with my, Red Hat ladies yesterday. Had lunch at Niemerg's and then went to the Effingham Performance Center and saw "The Church Basement ladies II" very funny! Drove home in the pounding rain, but it was a good time!

Goodbye Ruth

Sadly, one of our sweet Red Hat ladies has passed away, Ruth Silvey. She was 93 years old, but you would never have know it, she was always so funny, I can't tell you how many times she made me laugh out loud. She collected hats and had lots of them. Here is a picture of her from our October meeting where I did some face painting. R.I.P. Ruth, I know

Nice day with mom..

What a gorgeous day! Took mom to Mt. Vernon for a doctor's appt., went to Bath and Body Works, bought some goodies there, then stopped by Wendy's for a late lunch. Had a nice day with mom and the sunshine. Hope you all had a great day too! GLEE tonight, and Larry the cable guy's new show on History channel, " Only in America", really interesting.

Happy Valentines day????

So, I decided to take a walk down the cemetery paths. I had my ipod on and was really enjoying myself, when a huge dog came from behind and jumped on my back, knocked my ipod into the mud, then he was standing on it, and he licked my face while I was trying to retrieve it. Fortunately he was a friendly dog! He went on down the road and I ran home...lol....funny NOW, but not THEN.

Sunday with friends and family

Had a great day today, had coffee with some friends on Omega, spent the afternoon at mother-in-laws house visiting with my Sis in law, Debbie, nieces, Melissa and Amanda, Amanda's husband, Matt, and of course the kids, Madison and Braden....then took a walk in the 50 degree weather...hope you all had a great day too.

Freedom for Egypt

What an awesome day for the people of Egypt and an historical day for the world. I hope the Egyptian people get to live in a free and democratic country from now on. It's been amazing to be a witness to this event.

Super Bowl Sunday '11

The Bucket List

Just finished watching "The Bucket List", beautiful movie, sad, but a beautiful way to look at life. The sun was shining for a while, but now, back to the clouds..grrrr

I had never seen anything like this, the trees all looked like they were full of glistening multi-colored diamonds, gorgeous.

The dark ages in Kinmundy

Ugh, I have no cell phone service. It's been acting up since yesterday. So if anyone needs to call me you will have to email. I think the cell phone tower is on the fritz or something....it's the dark ages in Kinmundy.

The power is out on the next block and down the St. Peter road, so far ours is still on. The city hall in Kinmundy is open as a warming center today if anyone needs to go there...

Vegetarian Chili w/ sweet potatoes

The freezing rain has started in earnest now. So, I decided to try a new recipe today, Vegetarian Chili with sweet potatoes....I know that sounds weird, but the flavors are so awesome. Someone is riding a 4-wheeler in the empty field next to us, the dog is going crazy barking...and you all think it's QUIET here...lol...have a great day and stay safe.
