Where have I been, you ask? Making bunches of cinnamon salt dough gingerbread men (and teapots) why? No reason.... I did take them to Country Creek Treasures today though, if anyone is interested. Busy hands keeps me out of trouble..

Thanksgiving Day at Darren and Mindy's

Had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my son, Darren and daughter-in-law, Mindy in Collinsville today. We had deep fried turkey legs and smoked turkey too. So much food and delicious desserts too. So blessed to spend time with family. Drove home in a thick fog, but are home safe and sound. I hope you all had a great day with family.

I always wondered why those farmhouse bead garlands were so expensive..now I know! It took me hours to make this Christmas one, especially painting each wooden bead and the Santa belts and making tassels is not my forte!  However, I am pretty happy with it! Next up..a rag fabric Christmas tree...at least that's the plan...

Red Hat lunch November

 Lunch with my Red Hat sisters today! We played "outburst" and "heads or tails", turkey tails and wattles were involved.. Good times! Prayers for our sisters who are ill and in the hospital.

 

I rescued the last couple of roses of the season. They are a little beat up from the wind, but are still so pretty.

Sitting out by the fire on this last warm fall day having some taco soup and listening to some tunes...it just doesn't get any better from my view of life!

Lunar eclipse

Watching the lunar eclipse live on youtube, because of stupid clouds that decided to show up here..

 

Tomorrow will be the first time in history that a total lunar eclipse will occur on a regular Tuesday Election Day in U.S. history and it won’t happen again until November 8, 2394. So, you better catch this one...

Happy Birthday to my beautiful mama in heaven. She would be 95 now..I miss you so much everyday! I'm sure you are the most beautiful angel in heaven!

 

The last of the dang birdhouses...

I'm happy to report that all birdhouses are now painted (15 in all). I am glad because my neck is stiff and I have paint in my hair.

 

More birdhouses~

Painted a few more birdhouses. Bill went crazy building them from wood scraps he had in the barn. He was just going to leave them natural, but you know me. I had to get the paints out...these are meant to be used outside for nesting, as he made sure they were the right size and the entrance hole was perfect for wrens and finches. Same goes for the bluebird houses. Anyway...it was a beautiful warm day to work outside..and so I did. (Did you know that bluebirds can distinguish colors very well and their favorite color is blue.)
