A tribute to my mom

 I was missing my mom today, so I made this fairy cloche with her picture from when she was about 7 years old. I love seeing her little smiling face.

 In memory of a dear friend who went to her heavenly home a year ago today. I miss this sweet friend so much. Carol Easley Schwartz, I 'm sure your light shines bright among the angels, as it did when you were here with us.

 

 

Flowers from my sweetie

 Got some surprise flowers from my sweetie today. My small vase is out in my shed, I'm not going out there! They are not in a nice tight bouquet, but sure are cheerful on this ugly day!

 

Another foggy walk

 Another foggy day walk. So beautiful to see the geese flying low out of the fog, squirrels scurring around in the trees and birds everywhere. All the creatures (including me) are happy it's not -2° like the last 10 days.

UPDATE: This was at 11:00, it's 40 mins later and fog is twice as thick and a warning has been issued by Emergency Services in our area. Be careful local people!

 Lunch at the Asian Buffet in Mt. Vernon and an afternoon at the Centralia Goodwill.  Fun times, good food, and found some great bargains.

Valentine's Day Decor

 It's been a week of single digit or subzero temperatures (except for Wed.), so I think it's time to decorate for Valentine's Day, don't you?

Happy Birthday to me!

 Happy Birthday to me!  Bill took me to the Golden Corral for lunch in Effingham, IL, they have cakes!  Then to Hobby Lobby, where I bought lots of craft supplies!    I got lots of birthday withes on Facebook, messenger, email, texts and calls from my loved ones. Yippee!  It was a great day!

 

Fire in St. Peter, IL

 We heard about this fire in St. Peter, IL soon after the power went out, didn't know if the two were related.  Sadly, it was. Our power source was burned in the fire. This is so sad for our neighboring small town.  We drove there the next day, lots of the downtown area is gone and was still smoking.Thank you fire and emergency workers in St. Peter and all around our area who worked together to extinguish it on this horribly cold and windy night.

 

 

Power out on coldest day this Winter

 

1:00 a.m., 2° and....the power is out! Just peachy! We lit our gas fireplace, but it's not going to save the water pipes!

Update: power back on at 4:00. Hope it stays on this time. Came on twice before and then went back off. I've been playing Solitaire on my laptop! Thank you linemen! We appreciate you!

 

Red Hat Ladies lunch today

 Had a lovely time with my Red Hat sisters today! The weather was bad, so our group was small, but we had a great time visiting, laughing and telling stories about how our husbands proposed to us and other life events. What happens at Red Hats stays at Red Hats.

Mixed Medium jar

 I got tired of looking at this old mason jar that I had made years ago into a farmhouse jar, so I glued on some old jewelry and painted some layers of paint and some gold highlights and voila! I like it again.. It was a good way to spend this cold, rainy day! I hope you are all having a great Saturday!

Steampunk Jewelry handmade

 I got my steampunk jewelry finished and it's all at Country Creek Treasures along with the other items. We re-opened today after being closed for our annual Christmas vacation. Now time to catch up on my reading.
