Bill's Class of '76 reunion.

Had a fun time at Bill's class reunion. He was really surprised that so many remembered him, since he only went to grade school with them. Met some very nice people, had delicious food, and enjoyed the evening.

Cowboys vs Aliens, yippee yi yo.

Got home about an hour ago from Mt. Vernon where we watched the movie: Cowboys vs Aliens. For a movie with such a hokey name, it was really good. Aliens in the old west...!!! IT's looking mighty scary here right now, lightening, wind, etc. So guess I'd better unplug for a bit...see ya all later.

Garret, Lucas, Nemo and the dots

Garret made this in school, we weren't sure what is was, but Lucas wears it quite well..
Nemo birdhouse finally made his way home..
Great grandma and Garret, what a precious picture.
Garret pretending to sleep in the middle of the day.
I think he was trying to poke me in the eye...
Me and Luke taking our own picture..
Lunch before blizzards.
There was a show on about the ocean and when a clown fish appeared on the screen they both ran into the kitchen to get their fish birdhouse...how cute.
We dotted the walls in the boys rooms, looks really good.

The Glass Mushroom

Mom and I went to Shelley's yesterday. I wore a cord necklace with this little tiny mushroom in a glass bead. It is barely an inch long. Garret, age 5, was sitting on my lap and was looking at the necklace. He said "There's a little mushroom in there." I said "Yes, there is, a very tiny one. "
He said: "It looks sad.", I said "Why do you think the mushroom is sad?" He said "Because it's not in the forest." I said. "It's not a real mushroom.", He said "It looks like it's crying." Well, you can see that the air bubbles in the glass looks like tears. I said, "he's not crying, thats just air bubbles." So he jumped down and played for a while and several hours went by. He got back on my lap, looked at the necklace bead again and smiled and said "Maybe he's crying tears of joy."It was like he was thinking about it for a while...it's amazing what goes through the mind of a child, what a beautiful thing.

Visit with Mona

hello my friends, just had a wonderful visit with yet another friend that I hadn't seen since 1967. Mona McGuire Decker, she was visiting her brother in Salem and we decided to get together for that homemade blackberry pie, I promised her way last winter. What an awesome visit, it was so great reconnecting and catching up on our lives. I'm so thankful for my friends. Great seeing you Mona....hugs.

Movie night with mom

Just got home from my mom's, we had supper from Wendy's again, the almond berry chicken salad and a frosty. We watched some really good movies too: Burlesque, with Cher and Christina Aguilara, and The King's Speech with Geoffrey Rush and Colin Firth, as King George V, no wonder it won best motion picture, best male actor and many other academy awards, I highly recommend it...

Afternoon swim

We just got back from the Salem Aquatic ctr. ...it was 100 degrees today, heat index 115...yikes. There is a 15 minute break in the afternoon when all of the kids have to get out, but the oldies can swim. It was awesome! Bill and I swam the length of the pool several times and just enjoyed not having a kid jump on our head...seriously, that happened to me 3 times! I hope you all stayed cool today...
