The grand boys ride a train for the first time, and watch the longhorns

The grand boys are off on another adventure today, they are taking their first train ride. They are going to Fort Worth to see the running of the longhorns...how much fun would that be for a couple of growing boys! Lots, I'm sure.

Lunch with the girls

Sure enjoyed lunch with my ladies of '67, a great group of lifetime friends, I am so grateful for them all...I forgot my camera AND my phone, so no group photo today. Have a good one all!

Mother Nature is throwing a fit today.

The power has flickered off an on about 6 or 7 times already this morning, so if you don't hear from me, you'll know what happened...lights out..lol..I must say, what a night of weather, 40-45 mile an hour winds, rain, sleet, and now snow, blowing sideways by the windows. It's supposed to go on like this for the rest of the day. I feel all nice and cozy here at my kitchen table with a bowl of hot oatmeal, watching the snow from in here where it's nice and warm. Everyone be safe today..

New bedroom decor

I've been wanting to make one of these boho style wall hangings for a while, so I finally did it, so easy. .I think it fits pretty well with my gypsy style spare bedroom. I got most of this stuff from consignment shops, such fun to see what treasures you can find. I even found a crystal

ball, but you can't see it in this picture..

A summer's day in the middle of winter

Such an unusually warm day for February. It's after 4:00 and it's still 74 degrees and sunny. We've been outside in the swing a big part of the afternoon, we started a fire in the pit too..The neighbors to the north are riding their horses. The little girl took off down the road, leaving her brother behind, I actually heard him say "Hold your horses!" lol...hope you are all enjoying this summer day in the middle of winter...

Valentine's Day Adventure

I've been sick for over a week with a sinus and ear infection. Yes, I felt really terrible as you can imagine, had to get antibiotics, 10 days worth. In the meantime I missed the Superbowl party, lunch with my Red Hat ladies and a birthday party I was hired to facepaint at. Today, finally I ventured out. Bill wanted to take me out to eat for Valentine's day. We went to my new favorite place, the China Buffet in Effingham. Yes, I know that's not very romantic, but the food is great! Just give me some Lo Mein noodles, and I am a happy camper.. We also went to the Hodgson Mill store. What a beautiful building, wish I would have taken pictures inside, but was too busy looking at their many products. Everything is made locally with natural grains and stone grinding wheels, good stuff! Anyway, we did some more shopping and had a very nice day, even though it never got above 22 degrees...I hope you are all having a great Saturday. https://www.facebook.com

It's been snowing off and on, some of it melted off, but it's 21 degrees now, so what's coming down now will probably stick. Here's a close up of a group of snowflakes, wish I had a better camera, but you can still see some individual ones.
