Memorial Day with the Schwartz's and friends...

We went to Mike and Carol's today, as we usually do on Memorial Day week end.  We had lots of great food and enjoyed the day.  Peyton (one of the grand son's, around 10 now) did a lip sinc routine for us to a rap song I never heard of, but he danced and carried on, hilarious!  Pretty soon a storm came in, some of us left the covered patio and came inside.  Lots of wind suddenly came along and took the umbrella off of the patio table, broke it in two and slammed it against the fence, lots of rain and dark clouds.  We all sat around and drank wine and ate more dessert.  Then this beautiful double rainbow appeared, a great way to end a fun day.  Always love visiting with these people every year, also at Thanksgiving, and the December wine tasting, and sometimes a Shrimp boil, or superbowl party..fun, fun...!..now, I am tired..It takes a lot of energy to socialize for many, many hours..lol..I'm just kidding..

The ladies of '67 monthly lunch

Had a great time at lunch today, as always..When you get our age, everyone has some good stories, am I right ladies? .Here are a few pix...Bill had a good day at his rummage sale also...Have a great week end.

Can't believe it's already another day. We went to the Farmer's Market in Effingham yesterday morning in the pouring rain. We didn't expect much, since it was opening day for this year. Surprisingly there were many vendors there from last season and had quite a lot of stuff to sell considering it is so early. So we sloshed through the mud and rain and had a great time. The car was loaded between us and my mother-in-law. Went to breakfast at Hardee's! Good times, now I have stuff to plant and to eat, like asparagus and spinach...yummy!

A rope trick..lol

So, you all know how I love my hammock. If Bill is outside, I will ask him to please give me a push, so I won't have to do it myself. Today he handed me a rope....tied to a tree......so I can pull the rope and swing myself.....Bill, I guess this is a hint, you have better things to do than push a hammock....I get it!

Such a beautiful evening. I took a long walk around town, and came home to my hammock where I listened to music, watched the birds and watched the sky turn golden, then orange, then almost dark...pure joy!

Happy Mother's day, mom.

Happy Mother's day to my sweet mama in heaven. It's my first Mother's day without you and I love and miss you so much. I wish I could give you a big hug and take you out for lunch and then for a strawberry sundae. .I miss so many things about having you here on earth, but I know you are happy, healthy and young again forever. Keep sending the monarch butterflies to remind me you are thinking of me....

Red Hat lunch

I had lunch with my red hat sisters today at the Leaky Bucket in Forbes state park, such a gorgeous day! It's such a beautiful view of the lake and of course, we saw some hummingbirds at the feeders that surround the dining room. Enjoyed seeing all of you ladies!

An afternoon at Carlyle lake and a visit with old friends

We spent the afternoon relaxing at Carlyle Lake. We had a picnic, fed a friendly squirrel some almonds, and took pictures of the high water around the lake. A guy had a drone taking video of the flood waters, that was interesting to watch. On the way home we stopped to visit some "old" friends for a while, so nice to see you Don and Brenda Jett-Gordon, you are the best! I hope you all had a good day!

Wine tasting at Country Creek Treasures

I went to a wine tasting this evening, and we had so much fun, and got to taste the most delicious wines! We learned how to pair the right foods with the right wines and I was surprised how much better everything tasted when the right flavors were put together...the best part was dessert, a Fissata wine float...it was to die for, seriously! I hope you all had a great day!

Hey, it's the 4th!

He is 81 and the doctors says his health is that of a young person.
People you cannot hide from your poison. It's out there and it will find you so in the words of my friend's still living mother: " if I would have known my life would end this way I would have lived it more to the fullest enjoying everything I was told not to!"
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Eat the delicious food. Walk in the sunshine. Jump in the ocean. Say the truth that you’re carrying in your heart like hidden treasure. Be silly. Be kind. Be weird. There’s no time for anything else."
