We are home!

We are home. We found yet another water fall at the Camp Creek campground. So we stopped there for a while.. Our last adventure in West Virginia was Bill wanting to drive the entire western part of the state on the back roads, which was mostly route 52, through the mountains. It was beautiful, as it was lightly raining which brought out all of the fall colors. However, it seemed like every 30 feet there was a switchback..omg...round and round and back and forth! Bill drove over 200 miles that way until we found our campground when it was almost dark! We were so grateful to get there. We had a beautiful drive home yesterday though. Back to real life now...hope you all are having a great Monday.

Another day camping and Camp Creek, WV

We liked our camping spot so well, we decided to stay another day in Camp Creek, WV. There was a small waterfall down the road behind us, we spent some time there this afternoon, after running into town for supplies and lunch at Chick-fila. The leaves are at their peak color, so beautiful! .we roasted some wieners by the fire tonight, ya know, we wanted to make sure and eat all of the main junk food groups before we get home..lol...hope you all had a good day..And, YES, I am letting my hair grow out to it's natural color, so it's white, gray and blonde right now, bear with me...

West Virginia camping trip

We are in beautiful West Virginia, at Camp Creek campground, near Princeton, WV. It's gorgeous here, we even have a babbling creek right outside our bedroom window. ...a few photos from last night when we were at Salt Lick, KY...and as we were leaving on a foggy morning...We were lucky enough to have internet here too.

Home grown pumpkin pie

My mother in law had a small compost pile at her house, and one day we noticed this pumpkin plant growing all over the place, later on it was full of small pie pumpkins..So I picked them, cooked and pureed them and made muffins and such, today was the last of the smallest ones, so made this pie from scratch..fresh pumpkin...nothing like it...

I want to thank all of my crazy friends for a most hilarious Friday night .... food, wine and charades! Although we actually met to work on a project for Country Creek Treasures...guess that will be next time LOL(we got a little distracted),...love you ladies, you know who you are!

Red Hat Halloween party 2017

We had our Red Hat Halloween party today, what a great time! Everyone was in the spirit as we played blackout bingo and had lots of great and funny conversations...love you ladies! Little Red Riding Hood brought me a long stemmed black rose (chocolate), thanks so much! Thanks to everyone that brought bingo gifts, Janet Littrell-hanks, sorry you could't make it today, and Joan Bourland-Foltz, also sorry you couldn't make it today, either way we all loved the gifts..I hope you all had a great day!

I posted this on facebook along with the information that Bill and I went to Juliet, Georgia on vacation one year, right after the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes" was all the rage,the movie was filmed there as well. While we were there we went to the actual Whistle Stop Cafe, used in the movie and is a real restaurant. Of course we had fried green tomatoes...so my brother Kim, posted to me, the following:
