Colt update

Taco Party

The ladies of '67 had a taco party today at the home of Carol Schwartz. I didn't think I was going to be able to make it, but I stopped in for a little while. It was nice to see these ladies once again. Thank you, Carol, for having us at your home and for the little gift bag and poem, that was very sweet...I hope you all had a good day today!

Our 25th wedding anniversary

Happy Anniversary to my awesome husband, who makes each day an adventure and always makes me laugh at the most unexpected things... I love you more every day...Twenty five years now..wow, seems just like yesterday we were sitting in this limo getting ready to start our new life together....hugs and kisses..

When we Sang Johnny Cash songs in a real Irish pub in Ireland
When we Camped on the dunes in Colorado in a tent, with coyotes running around and howling all night
When we Chased tornados for years all over Texas and Oklahoma
When you good naturedly let me teach you the chicken dance at Shelley’s wedding
Went to a Startrek convention
Went to LOTS of Renaissance Fairs dressed like Pirates
Danced all night at many Halloween parties in costume
Traveled to many interesting destinations
When
We became chicken farmers, for many, many years
Owned and operated the Ice Cream Shop together
When we worked hard , but loved being, Concession trailer owners and operators ( that is a long story within itself)
When you let me actually paint your face like the blue Avatar people
(that picture never saw the light of day)
When we Built a chicken coop together in the rain
When we Worked together on Wild BIll’s Fresh Squeezed Lemonade stand at festivals and fairs
When we drove to Kentucky to my brother, Kent’s and watched the complete total eclipse in 2017 When we Sat on a beach from morning til after sunset by a lighthouse in Michigan
When we have gone on our many wonderful camping trips (and now with the motorhome, it’s even better)
When we worked together building silly scarecrows for the garden
 The Gold panning in Colorado and only finding rubies
Hiking in the woods, state parks and building shelters with no tools
When you encouraged my many cooking experiments and eating them when they weren’t even good

But now that we are older, and stay home more, we enjoy nothing more than sitting in our swing by the firepit watching nature unfold around us, and most of all, being in each other’s company as the sunsets for the day…..

Cold summer soup

It's such a hot day, so I made this Spicy Chilled Avocado soup...I was really surprised at how good it was and so refreshing! I hope everyone is staying cool! I still had to make sausage and eggs for Bill, because if you mention "avocado", he acts like there's a vampire in the room..

   

Shelley's trip to Washington D.C.

Since Shelley is now working in Rockville, MD, she took the opportunity to go to the Smithsonian today, and was lucky enough to get in on the festivities surrounding the 50th anniversary of the Moon Mission of Apollo 11, Neil Armstrong first walked on the moon...she sent me a text and said it was scorching hot, but she enjoyed all of the displays and stayed for this wonderful presentation at the Washington monument...for those of you who witnessed the original live broadcast on tv and radio back then, this will surely bring back memories...

Red Hat lunch for July

Had lunch with my Red Hat Sisters today at the China King Buffet...it was really good, always love that they have fresh sushi at lunch time too. We had a nice visit and then a few of us went to Baubles and Bling for a while....a fun day! So interesting what they did with these bamboo plants..so pretty.. Love these ladies bunches..I hope you all have had a good day!

I just happened to look outside and oh my, look at this sunset and the multi-colored clouds..just beautiful!

The only place to be today....in a pool of water...

I spent part of the afternoon swimming, ok I wasn't really swimming, I was just walking around in the water up to my neck..it's 96 degrees with 105 heat index...the water was so refreshing. Looks like maybe rain coming in now...I hope you are all having a good day!

Update on our new little neighbor

The new little colt next door was close to the fence and watching me when I was walking this morning. He is growing so fast. The owner told me he didn't know the mama horse was pregnant and what a surprise when he came home from work the other day. Sorry, should have adjusted the contrast on this before I posted it.

A fun day with Bill...

Bill and I spent the day shopping at resale shops in Mt. Vernon..we actually found some things we were looking for. Boy, was it hot though! We are sitting outside for a little bit. Another beautiful sunset tonight...

A new neighbor :)

Our neighbor has horses and I love watching them. Today, there was a surprise....a new baby was born. It was just laying there and then it hopped up, wobbled around a bit and now it's running around flipping it's tail....it's so sweet. Don't know if it's a colt or a filly, it was standing in the tall grass by the fence...so couldn't check that part out..lol...
