Made this for a friend

 I made this for a dear friend, she really liked it.

 

What is this nonsense...our power went out on the hottest day of the year

 A short but very strong storm came through about 5:00p.m., last evening, it broke some power poles down the road from us. Half of the town was without power. There was also lots of wind damage in our little town. So, here we sat at 10:00 at night on the hottest day of the year.  We went to my mother in laws porch because everything in our yard was just drenched and still wet from the storm...we lit a couple of lanterns and just waited. At least there was a beautiful bright almost full moon!  The power came back on at 4:00 a.m.  We did get some sleep, the house stayed around 75 degrees.  So, it was 10 hours without power.  All is well now.

 

An evening at Blair's

 Thank you Blair's Processing ( Hope Horath)for the wonderful annual customer appreciation evening. There were probably at least 100+ people there. The food was delicious, catered by "Lickin' my chicken and pullin' my pork", we always look for them when we are at local events.. Live music and just a great group of people enjoying a summer Saturday night in the country. There were also fireworks! Thankfully the weather was perfect! Thanks again, we had a great time.

 

He's just the best

 Thank you all for the many anniversary good wishes. We appreciate them so much. It has been a good day. I was gone all afternoon and when I came home these lovely gifts and cards were waiting for me from my dear husband. He's just the best! Then we cooked some hotdogs over the firepit and spent the rest of the evening outside.

Steampunk handmade and trinket box

 There has been a good run on steampunk items in my booth, recently..(Yay me), so made these few items this past week. However, I need to get started on Halloween stuff soon, only a few potion bottles left now...it's hot, so guess I have no excuse, gotta get to work. Everyone have a great day!

 

 

Red hat lunch Bingo

 It was Bingo day with the Red Hat ladies at Village Garden. "Ruby" was helping me call the numbers. We had a good time and we all came home with great prizes! Thank you, Debi Champion for furnishing the prizes! Glad to see everyone!

Happy 4th of July!

 

For our 4th of July and America's 250th Birthday outing....

We went to the Effingham Farmers Market. We mainly went to get tomatoes, but...so much yummy stuff there.  I tried something new, it was a vegetarian dish originating in Egypt, it was called koshari and was delicious! They also had baklava, which I had to have. We were good though, no purchases of big packages of cinnamon rolls or Sourdough bread....Now I am sad, j/k..It was a nice day, but huge crowds at every turn. Some ladies were selling steaming hot authentic tamales, but the line was an hour long, so no tamales either. I did get a vase of sunflowers though. So we came home and I made sloppy joes from scratch and slaw. Hope you are all having a great holiday!
