Pies

It was the last day of the Effingham Farmer's market for this year, so we stocked up on sweet potatoes, jams, jellies, salsa and we bought a pair of pies. One was red raspberry and the other was pear, so we didnt know whether to eat the pair or the pear.... I see you all rolling your eyes out there..

Car show

Had a great time this afternoon at the Louisville Fall festival! Besides crafts, food and entertainment they had an awesome car show, over 100 entries.

Lunch with ladies of '67

Had lunch today at the Farmhouse bakery and cafe with my dear friends, the ladies of '67! It has been a while, so it was extra special to see all of these sweet faces again! Had a great time ladies! Wonderful to see you all!

 Had a fun evening with some of my co-workers and friends from World Color Press last night. Ah, the memories!  So great to see everyone!

 

stacked wood pumpkin

Bill was tired of making birdhouses, so I put him to work making this rustic stacked wood pumpkin. I painted him up today (the pumpkin, not Bill) and now I have an outside pumpkin that won't rot or get eaten by squirrels! I added some gold gilding around the edges, but didn't show up very well in the picture.

 

Red Hat Halloween Party! Woot!

Red hat Halloween party today! What fun! We gave customers candy and played bingo. The best costume prize went to Betty Pollard, that witchy woman! Really enjoyed the day! Thanks ladies! You are all awesome!

 

Tiered Halloween Tray

My Halloween tiered tray in natural light and with lights on (both sides). I made the tray from an old rusted tray, a metal pie plate and a large tree branch for the divider and top. It's my favorite time of year and my favorite holiday!

 

 

Darren and Mindy come to town

Had a wonderful visit with my son, Darren and daughter-in-law, Mindy Holsapple today. Darren made a quiche which we had for lunch while we watched Hocus Pocus 2. Loved it! They also brought flowers, books, candles and snacks for the movie. Mindy made these adorable Halloween candles for me (orange and clove scented). Love spending time with my family.

Our hummingbirds seem to be gone, haven't seen any for a couple of days... 

Bill's crazy birdhouses

What a gorgeous fall day! Bill has been trimming our big oak trees and I have been painting birdhouses out in the sunshine. We are now roasting some weiners and watching the trees starting to show off their fall colors! Have a great evening all!
