Fish Fry at Mike Schwartz residence

What a wonderful day we had at Mike Schwartz's fish fry! Lots of friends there....and the food, oh my! Tables loaded with 4 kinds of deep fried fish, fries, corn fritters, salads and desserts! We even had something we had never eaten before, wild Chicken of the woods mushrooms that Craig had found in the woods, they were very meaty and a bright orange color, delicious! We visited with friends while the menfolk did the cooking, games of washers were very competative and the kids swam in the pool all day! We got home in time to sit outside and watch the lightening bugs come out for the night! I hope you all had a great Memorial Day and stopped for a moment to think of those soldiers who gave their all for our country.

 

 

New Bluebird couple moves into the town.

We moved the bluebird house this year so that we could watch them from our back windows. Two of them have been very busy building their nest. This is the female, but the male helps too. We love watching them! I couldn't get a clearer picture, as she doesn't sit very long before she pops in the house with her mouthfuls of straw.

 

 

Brother Kent came to visit

 Had a nice day with my brother, Kent today! We had a weiner roast with all the fixings and cherry delight pie for dessert. It was a great day to be outside. Hope everyone has a wonderful evening!

Happy Mother's Day to my mama in heaven. I miss her so much. She loved the Red Hat ladies and this was one of her favorite pictures, which she had in a frame by her favorite chair for years. This is from 2006 and was our Christmas Party. I miss and love you mom.

So long ago....

It's throw back Thursday! Let's go back to 1996 and our first ( of many) Renaissance festival at Wentzville, MO. Bill surprised me with a "spur of the moment" day trip. What fun and it started a whole new chapter in our life! I only have a flower Garland on my head, the other thing is a hanging basket right behind me...

 

Darren and Mindy come to town

My son, Darren and daughter-in-law, Mindy came to visit today! Those kids are such fun! We laughed so much! They also brought lunch, dessert and a large bouquet of beautiful fresh flowers. We went shopping around Salem for a while and spent time sitting outside on this gorgeous day! So great to see them! I hope you all had a great day too!

We are out by the fire today, eating chicken fajitas. It's such a gorgeous day! Bill put up my hammock this morning, so you know what that means, an afternoon of reading! Bill is going to mow, but I will be relaxing.
