A walk in the fall colors

 We took a little walk round Kinmundy Lake this morning. The leaves are gorgeous! A tiny snake was sunning in the road, I thought he was dead and he jumped at me, I yelled "its alive" and I jumped back, Bill thought this was hilarious! It was no bigger than an oreo.

 I know it's warm out today, but I made this ham and potatoes corn chowder anyway. It's good, but needs more spices. Have a great day everyone!

 Had a little fire pit time for a little while this afternoon. We didn't want to build a big one, it's way to dry.We enjoyed it though...we haven't had rain for over 2 months here in  southern Illinois.

 Guess the hummingbirds are heading south, haven't seen any all day. They are usually buzzing around me when I am outside. I'm sad to see them go.

 My porch flowers are getting all leggy and ugly now, thought I would decorate them for Halloween for one last hurrah before the frost sets in.

 Red Hat ladies were celebrating Halloween today! We had a great time! I took this photo at home of my costume this year....a 1920's socialite (the ladies thought I was a bride). The rest were taken at the party. Fun, fun, fun!

 Had lunch with the ladies of '67 and one gentleman of '67, Barry Robbins. Two ladies we haven't seen for years came home to join us. Great to see you Christine Holler and Connie Roethe-Smith! It was great to see everyone!

 

More Halloween and Streampunk crafts I made for my craft booth

 Here's a few things I 've crafted lately for Country Creek Treasures. We've had quite a few beautiful warm days recently, but things are starting to cool down. I've spent as much time as possible outside, but we are under a no burn order, so no firepit time for us. The hummingbirds are still around, but sadly, they will be leaving soon. Bill and I went to the Little Egypt Festival Saturday and that is all of the news from Kinmundy town! I hope you have all had a great day.

 

 

Halloween nesting dolls

 I got some of my Halloween decorations out today, because, why not? My daughter got me these 2 groups of nesting dolls years ago, I love them! The jack-o-lantern ones are full of little wooden ghosts, but I ran out of room. I already decorated my mantle too. The candles on the mantle came with a remote, I can make them flicker, control the brightness, turn them off and on and adjust the timer without leaving the couch! How lazy am I?

 Well, I thought National Son's Day was in the Spring, so I am a day late giving a shout out to my two boys, Darren Holsapple and (Preston) Alexander Preston Phillips . You two are just the best! You have both accomplished so much, grew up to be wonderful dad's and are each awesome in your own special way. I love you both so much and love being your mom!
