Morels,yum!

 Our neighbor brought us these morels last night, they are huge! Guess what's for lunch today? Also there is a mockingbird in a tree in our yard, making all of his fake bird calls. So interesting! Others are answering him.

 I waited too late to make a bouquet of lilacs, they are already losing their blossoms, but I will enjoy them for a couple of days anyway. They sure smell good!

Last day of visit

 My brothers Kent McKelvey, Lee McKelvey and sister-in-law, Sylvia Erickson McKelvey have gone on to the next leg of their trip. Yesterday we had lunch at our house, went to Driftstone Pueble in St. Elmo for a little shopping and came back to our house and enjoyed the beautiful day until evening. We sure had wonderful family time together and I'm so grateful they drove all the way from CA just to see us. Now...back to reality.

 

More family fun

 Another great day with family! Had lunch at Kristy's Kafe inside Country Creek Treasures, did a little shopping and came home to sit around the firepit and visit. Good times!

Lots of flooding in southern Illinois.

 Well, now our power is out, it's still pouring rain, flooding everywhere, what's next, locusts, famine, plague? Update: power is back on, rain has stopped. Yay!

However, here are some photos of a few places in Salem, IL that were extremely flooded.  Many people have lots of flood damage.  The spillway was unable to keep up and the water was 6" over the road.

One of my friends had her truck covered with water and her basement was full of water to the ceiling.  He entire yard around her home was nothing but a lake, a very sad and scary situation for all.
