My honey did not disappoint! He even got my favorite diet cherry Dr. Pepper..I know, diet soda with all that chocolate doesn't make sense...but there you have it! He said this ought to last me a couple of months...he's so funny!

Had lunch with my Red Hat sisters today at Village Garden. Of course, it was a Valentine's Day theme. We played games and each got a Valentine and heart sucker. We visited and laughed and it was a great time! Some things I learned today about Valentine's Day: 58 million pounds of candy are bought every year for Valentine's day, Valentine's Day was first declared on February 14, 496 AD and the average person spends $131.00 on Valentine's day..that is all!

I don't mean to drive you nuts with these deer pictures, but there were over 150 photos from the trail cam in just a couple of days. We saw at least 3 bucks out with the does. That is not something we see everyday. We have oak trees and they have been eating the acorns, even digging them up from under the snow...one buck was curious about the camera, it lets off a soft orange color, but it is not supposed to bother the animals..
I went to a class at Country Creek Treasures (Salem, IL) today on making Elderberry syrup which is used for many health purposes, as many of you may know. It was fun! We learned a lot, had Andrea's special herbal tea and I met some lovely fun ladies. Then Bill and I went to lunch at Chuck's Place, it was packed as usual, but enjoyed our food! It's been a nice day and I 'm glad the snow is melting! (I am not in any of these photos, I was having too much fun to bother).

Lots of people tracks, deer tracks and birdie tracks out in our backyard today. We went out a few times to take care of the birds and put up a couple of trail cams. It was nice to get out in the fresh air and sunshine, if only for a little bit! (it's 15° and we just came in).
It's TBT once again. Many of you know we owned an ice cream shop for 7 years. The shop was torn down last year and I was thinking about it today and how much fun it was! Every year I had a Halloween party and if you wore a costume you got a free ice cream cone. So, here are some photos from Halloween 1999. I was looking out my backdoor, I have a suncatcher hanging there and this caught my eye, thought it was so interesting.
Looks like the snow is over. We officially got 9.3". It is slick and extremely cold and windy and is going to stay well below freezing for at least a week, so guess we will be looking at this white stuff for a while( for those of you who don't live here). Might be a good time to catch up on my reading. Everyone stay safe and warm!
