A day at Carlyle Lake

There was a man at the lake yesterday that had a cute beagle dog, so I was petting the dog and talking to this "old guy"...we were talking about getting old and how entertainment is watching people try to get their boats out of the water..lol..I said "I know what you mean, we used to be the young people on the beach, now we're just some oldies, listening to some golden oldies, eating ham sandwiches by the boat docK"..we got a good chuckle out of that one....I still love retirement though..how many times as I was neck deep in paperwork, did I long to do such things.. here are a few pix I snapped with my phone. The old people sitting in the chairs, is not us, but I'm sure we looked just like that.

And the camping season begins...

We went camping over the weekend. The weather was perfect and there are no bugs yet, well no annoying ones anyway. We saw an eagle fly right over our head on his way to the trees across Forbes lake. The trees are just now budding out, so we could really see the night sky, beautiful. I took these pictures with my cell phone, so they are a bit grainy, but you get the idea.. The 'Old Guy'

Bill had a rummage sale in Kinmundy Park today. One of Bill's friends went into the grocery store here in town, and there was a lady with a baby stroller and she had a shovel in there too. Bill's friend said "Got ya a shovel?", she said "Yeah, some OLD GUY was selling shovels in the park, so I got me one."..ha ha...Bill's an OLD GUY...of course, Bill's friend couldn't wait to come to the park to give him a hard time..lol..BTW...another rummage sale tomorrow, don't worry, he's got lots of new stuff to sell, if you get up this way..

Jack and Shirley's 50th Wedding anniversary party

We went to a 50th Wedding Anniversary party last night for Jack and Shirley Anderson. There was lots of good food and many funny stories about this couple through the years. There was also a rousing game of "Not So Newlywed"...most of the couples had been married at least 40 years, so funny...the men took the high road, but the women answered honestly..just loved it..on the way there we just about had a collision with a flying turkey, yes, a flying turkey that barely cleared the hood of our car before it landed on the other side of the road...he was flapping those wings as hard as he could go...lol...I hope you all have a great day today
