I have to be a braggy grandma this morning..my grandson, Lucas, ran his first 5k run yesterday in Fort Worth, TX. I am so proud of him! I have to say that Cow Town sure knows how to throw a marathon, there were 8000 runners, which would roughly be the entire population of Salem, IL...Way to go Lucas!

The Ladies of '67 had our monthly lunch date at Ma Ma Antonio's Italian restaurant...kind of a small group today, only about 7  of us, lots of illness, vacations, and other things were happening, so we missed our nice large group.  It was fun though, a cold, ugly day with nice fresh pizza and pasta and friends..can't ask for more than that...

Belated Valentines Day date with my sweetie

What a fun day today. We went to Belleville to the flea market, where I bought some beautiful dark purple druze amethyst pieces, a large amethyst point, some clear quartz points, and some religious Shiva stones.  We had lunch at the Ginger Buffet in Fairview, Hgts, IL , they even had roast duck, crab legs and crayfish on the buffet, along with the usual stuff at Asian restaurants..very good, We stopped by Carlyle Lake where at the marina there were hundreds and hundreds of gulls gathered on a bank of rocks that used to the the boat dock area. ...all of those white "rocks" in the distance are gulls, then we stopped by the swinging bridge and saw a flock of pelicans..that's what those white blobs are in the last photo...it was cold and windy, but the sun was shining...a perfect day with my honey, we were celebrating a belated Valentine's Day.

Red Sun

It's been ugly, cloudy, rainy and snowy, we've hardly seen the sun lately. Finally, just a few minutes ago, it started to clear up , ending the day with this beautiful red winter sun..

Another Clay Fairy House night light

I made another little fairy house night light out of homemade clay and a jar....no extras this time except poster board for the roof.The rest is entirely of clay....My clay, being a homemade recipe, was too wet, so I had some problems with it, still it was another learning experience and was a fun way to spend time on these cold, ugly days..I hope you are all enjoying your Tuesday!

Post Modern Jukebox revisited

I had a wonderful time with my dear friends, Carol, Linda and Sandie last night at the Effingham Performance Center enjoying the fantastic music of  Post Modern Jukebox.  Linda and I went last year and really enjoyed them.  We had a nice relaxing supper at Friday's and had plenty of time to visit before the show started.  It's always a great time with these ladies who I have known since I was a pre-teen and have remained friends with throughout my entire life..so grateful for them all.

Here's a few photos. They are not very clear as the spotlights washed out their faces, and I just used my phone...but they are terribly talented people and added lots of fun to the evening.

Red Hats February Lunch and party for no reason

I had lunch with my Red Hat sisters today. We had a great turn out for such a cold day! Some of us won new Red Hats! Thank you Pat Hill for being a wonderful and fun hostess and for the many gifts! Now onto an evening out with friends! Everyone have a great day!

Coldness and Cod fish

The rain has finally stopped, but the wind is pretty wicked right now. So thankful to have a nice warm home. .If you like cod fish....I made this tonight with fresh cod from Kroger, Buttered oven roasted cod with lemon and parsley...very yummy! Everyone have a good evening!
