We have been going to our friend's house, Mike and Carol Schwartz for many years, the evening before Thanksgiving. Always lots of people, fun and food. Our friend, Carol, passed away last January at the age of 73, such a shock. Lori , her daughter, wanted to do one last evening Thanksgiving as a tribute to Carol. Mike, Carol's husband is still struggling as well. They had an empty chair and Carol's picture at the table. A wonderful gesture, but brought tears for many of us. Also, there was a recipe for Carol's dill dip that she had written in her own writing and given to Blake's ( their grandson) wife Cassie. Cassie made the dip with a vegetable tray and had a stack of copies made so we could all have one. How sad this all is. Still it was nice to see everyone and visit. It will seem strange not to have it next year, but I understand, it was hard on her children, Lori an Craig and will be better to start new traditions.
