The Way We Were........

Lost in Another time, another place...And WHY would we go there??? you ask??..

  • Great Costumes
  • Communing with Nature
  • A real life adventure in a real time and place, but gone forever!
  • Constant LIVE music and entertainment, now where else could you find that, except in a time without television, radio, cell phones and computers. Hard to believe, oh thee young ones of the present world, but once t'was true.
  • People of the renaissance were not afraid of sex, or the inference to it in their songs, stories and everyday life......why are things different now??? Damn puritans!!
  • For once, it was stylish to be full figured (ha ha) Why wasn't I born during the dark ages?
  • Bill, you are always such a sport to don the ren. apparel, loves ya so much, you are the best and....
  • You look so gallant in your plumed hat and boots, hugs and kisses, honey!

What I Learned from my Dog...

This was written by a friend of mine, named Rochelle, Or Geisha Girl, as we know and love her fondly call her. She is a world traveler and so wise for her young years. Here's to you Rochelle and to your mighty Samari Dog!

What I Learned From My Dog

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in my face to be pure ecstasy.
When loved ones come home, I will always run to greet them.
Let others know when they have invaded my territory.

Take naps and stretch before rising.
Run, romp, and play daily.
Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.
Be Loyal.

Never pretend to be something I am not.
If what I want lies buried, I will dig until I find it.
When someone is having a bad day, I will be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle him gently.

Thrive on attention, and let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
On a hot day, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

If you stare at someone long enough, eventually you'll get what you want..... and if it's not wet and sloppy it's not a real kiss! (Thanks Parsix!)

When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

Renaissance Man (and woman)

Bill, don't we just I love the Renaissance Fairs? I love wearing the period costumes with you, oh, Sir William, but not on this day....100 degrees is just a little to warm for velvet corsets and leather knee boots!

Something Wicked This Way Comes

People...it is raining cats and dogs here in Illinois, maybe even Chinchillas! Clouds were looming all day. However, hubby and I traveled to Paducah, Ky. We had lots of laughs, since hubby is completely insane...but I digress....a delicious lunch was enjoyed at the Los Amigos restaurant, a jewish food place.......naw...I'm just kidding, of course , it is Mexican and was wonderful! Still we drove home fast so that grass could be mowed before the impending rain. I went into the next town to my mom's for a while, expecting to find hubby asleep when I returned, instead he is running around the front yard with a rug on his head trying to catch the dog (who did NOT want to go back into her pen) all this was taking place in the pouring rain! Naturally, I laughed because ..well, let's face it, nothing is funnier than running around the yard with a rug on your head!!!..... It's ok though, we are all tucked into our little home, a pot of hot coffee, some chocolate cake and a good evening was had by all!

Why Halloween, you ask?

I seems that I am a magnet for the weird and humorous. My life is scary...I have many stories to tell...come on, I couldn't possibly make this stuff up....I don't have that good of an imagination!

I'm driving home, it's raining. Suddenly there were frogs jumping across the road, coming from all directions. I slowed down. Don't want to run over any frogs, nope not me! Then suddenly I heard a horrible "Thud" under my car, Mr. froggie had decided to take a leap into eternity about the time I drove over him! ..Ewwwwww!....While I was still freaked out about THAT incident, something caught my eye, yes, another frog sitting in the passing lane, and I swear his eyes were glowing in my headlights....I felt like the kids in the "I know What you Did Last summer" movie, arghhhhh!

So I am posting on one of my favorite boards and an internet friend from Venezuela told me that she had the same thing happen........only with crabs!!!! Can you imagine? Crunch, Crunch...

So that's my story for today, tomorrow we will talk about the illusive : Jackalope....ha ha

Kabooga if you ever read this, I am dedicating this story to you and your dog...again, where are my laughing emoticons!
