Zombies......Beware!

We spent the day at Louisville's Fall festival. Had the annual all-you-can-eat pancakes at the Rotary club (all I could eat was 2 though),We made some new friends along the way. Enjoyed the car show and parade. It was really cold and damp and rained some, but it was a good day, got home just before dark, wild times for us old people..We were going to go to a haunted house tonight, but once we got home, decided to just stay here and watch some Halloween movies..Hocus Pocus, just finished, got another one starting. Here are my grand boys in Texas, as Zombie Hunters...so cute, I love and miss them so much. Love this picture!

McKelvey Minion Halloween

My brother, Kim McKelvey and his wife, Sylvia Erickson McKelvey, always go all out for Halloween each year. They have hundreds of trick or treaters and started doing this many years ago for their grand kids. The grand kids are growing up, but these two will always be young at heart. They decorate the yard and porch and dress in costume to go along with the theme..this year it was the Minions...great job, as always!

Halloween camping at Carlyle Lake.

We took our motorhome out for it's maiden camp last night! What a great time we had! We had lots of visitors too. Pelicans were trolling the water for fish day and night, and a large number of little black ducks were eating moss from the rocks on the shore. The best part though was that the entire camp ground was decorated for Halloween. Nearly every camper had their own display, one even had an outside "haunted path", geared more toward the little ones. You could stand anywhere in the park and see glowing decorations, it looked like the carnival was in town! We took a late night walk, and one gentleman was playing the guitar and singing "Wabash Canon ball", he was very good. We love our new motor home, very comfortable and warm. We are so glad we got it. We both got a good night's sleep too! Here are a few pix. I hope you are all having a good day.....at Carlyle Lake

These eyes were lit up at night, very scary.   ;)

The setting sun reflecting on the water.

Twilight....time to light up the camp.

Jack kept us company all through the dark night.  ;)

Monday morning....I didn't mean to scare these little ducks.

Saturday morning travels.

We had a fun morning today. Went to Effingham Farmer's market, where we got lots of fresh veggies, and then onto Joe Sipper's Cafe for a caramel Latte. After doing a little shopping, we headed for Flora and to Julian's Restaurant, which is always good and a very quaint mom and pop place, where their 91 year old grandma still makes fresh pies from scratch everyday. Now we are relaxing on this cloudy (and sometimes rainy) afternoon. Have a good one all!

Hornet's nest

It's very windy today, so the leaves are falling from the trees, and I was thinking how pretty they looked floating to the ground and about that time Bill called me outside and showed me a hornet's nest up in the tree that was exactly above my head in front of my craft room where, all summer I was running the electric sander, spray painting, and had loud music playing while I did my crafting..wow, this could have been bad, if it had fallen down, it would have landed right on my head.. yikes!..it does have it's own beauty though, but I think I will just admire it from afar.

Halloween past.....

TBT...A picture of my "babies" from Halloween past...sometime in the late 70's or very early 80's...they were pretty proud of their jack-o-lantern.

SCHS ALL-CLASS REUNION DINNER AND DANCE

What a great SCHS All Class Reunion! Everyone had a grand time, lots of hugs, visiting and dancing. Over 800 people attended and I would like to compliment the committee who took over a year to plan the weekend events, they did an outstanding job. I so appreciated those that I was fortunate enough to get to spend some time with, too many to name here....good times that will be treasured.  Wow, I haven't danced that much for a long while, how fun!
