Trip to Indiana to Spring Mill State park

Our Friday started out with an auction that didn't happen, couldn't get a camp spot at Spring Mills due to an Autumn Fall festival that was happening Saturday, and finally after some coffee and Pie at the Railroad Cafe in Mitchell, IN, drove a few more miles and stayed the night in the Walmart parking lot in Bedford, IN...which was really quite fun.  We had our cooler full of goodies to eat, a lantern, and battery operated radio, and we were close to the donuts, which was bad and also good.  Saturday we went back to Spring Mill state park and had an awesome day!  A 200 year old grist mill, still grinding corn everyday, a village of authentic cabins, and "authentic" townspeople from back in the day, such as leather workers, rug weavers, and the like.  It was a cool, drizzly day and was just perfect for a trip to the past.  We also  hiked through a virgin woods, the only remaining one Indiana, and took a boat tour through the twin caves.  Also did lots of hiking and walking, and climbing.  On Sunday we spent our time at Patoka Lake, which is a lake in Indiana named after the local Indians.  It had a nice long beach and was very picturesque.  All in all, it was a wonderful weekend...ending with an ice cream sundae.  Lots of pix below.
