Baby Lucas is here!

Here is dad and baby Lucas, eye to eye. The day didn't go exactly as planned, but everything will be fine, I am sure. Shelley was on the table ready to have her c-section, when an emergency happened with another patient, and she got bumped from her surgery at 7:30 a.m. Finally Lucas was born at 8:58 a.m., 7 lbs. 2 oz., and 20 inches long. They gave Shelley an extra long working drug for the spinal block, she spent forever in recovery because she still couldn't move even after 7 hours. She begged to come to her room, finally, they gave in an brought her into the room where mom, me and Cary were waiting all day. In the meantime, Lucas's breathing became very erratic and we couldn't see him, except through the glass. When Shelley got to the room, she was of course, wanting to see her baby boy she had waited so long for, but couldn't get out of bed, due to still being numb from the waist down, and the baby couldn't be brought to her because of the breathing problem. It was very trying for her and she spent half of her time crying. Anyone who is a mother can understand the frustration and then the worry. An xray was taken and Lucas still had fluid in his lungs, due to the cesarean birth. This was causing the breathing problems, and is why he is in a little oxygen tent in the picture above with Cary. Finally, mom and I got to go see the little guy, after Cary came back to the hospital and brought Garret back to see mommy. We had to go into the nursery and see him. He is just a beautiful baby and I'm sure the breathing problem will resolve itself. I just talked to Shelley and they have reduced the oxygen down to the next level, and so things seem to be getting better. I'm so happy he is here finally and hope he can come home real soon, where I can spoil him rotten just like big brother, Garret. Speaking of Garret, while I was in the nursery with Cary seeing Lucas, mom was watching Garret outside the door. The nurses have him some stickers that said, "I'm the big brother". Mom stuck them on his shirt, but then he ripped them off and mom asked him what he was doing and he said "I put them in my pocket", so he wadded them up and stuck them in his pocket, how funny he is. Anyway, welcome to the world, baby Lucas, we can't wait to get to know you....Hugs from the grandmas and grandpas.

Since it's March, here's some Halloween pictures

My brother sent me these pictures about Christmas time, so I thought now would be a good time to share them......A mad scientist and his sexy red headed side kick.....and of course, those wacky grand kids.

I see one of those "Bzzzzzzzzz" things in the window....

Ah, ha ha ha ha....(evil laugh here)
Ok, now I'm really scared.........
Wolf whistle here for my beautiful sister-in-law....er, I mean Katrina Rozinski...she's too sexy to know anything about science....but...the mad scientist doesn't care....
What evil lurks in the mind of my brother......?????? Cool shoes... Yep, he looks pretty "mad"...
And here are the wacky grand kids....how cute they all are, I mean scary.....
So does the assistant have an assistant???

Now doesn't this look like a fun Halloween? Great costumes too, everyone. You all look fantastic......or as Frankenstien would say "wouunnnleennhefl".....(no that's not supposed to spell anything, 'cause Frankenstein couldn't talk......) Remember in the "Young Frankenstein" movie where Gene Wilder (Young Frankenstein) and Frankenstein were dancing on stage singing "Puttin' on the Ritz"....and when it came time for Frankenstein to say "Puttin' on the ritz, he just made weird noises.....lol......one of the funniest things ever...

so...Happy Halloween from San Jose and the mad scientists that live there...Beware!

Visiting Shelley, Cary and Garret....Feb.

Garret wanted me to take a picture of his truck, so here it is...

Great grandma had to grab Garret for a hug, he is so hilarious.
Grandma hugging Shelley after she gave her her "Snuggie"..
Shelley and grandma doing the Queen wave....grandma wouldn't take off her snuggie and was mezmerized by the free book light that came with it....hee
We took this picture while buzzing down the road of a beautiful winter sunset just outside of Decatur.

We had Kentucky fried chicken and just spent the day at Shelley's visiting. Marsha and Christine came over too. Garret was very entertaining, as always.

Big Snow in Kinmundy, IL

Bill got stuck...so instead of helping him, I took a picture....

There was 8-10 inches of snow that feel between January 27, and 28.
From my nice warm house, a view from the window of my poor dog who doesn't like to get her feet wet.....

Below is my car before I cleaned it off...it was a beautiful snow, but really cold, of course.

Visit with Shelley, Garret, and mom for my birthday

Mom and I went to Decatur today to visit Shelley and Garret. It was a belated birthday celebration, since the weather was bad on the 17th when we were going to go visit in the first place. Garret was at the play area of the mall and did NOT want to take time to get his picture taken, but I posed anyway.....na....nana....nana...na...Garret, I got your picture anyway!!
We ate at Olive Garden, mom had peach tea, and they actually put a peach in it...looks good! Shelley looks so pretty, she is 7 months pregnant here...but she looks lovely. I can see her rolling her eyes right now!!!
While we were waiting for our food, Shelley and Garret were playing "Coasters"...I didn't know
how to play...hee hee..

Shelley got him to smile........finally!!! Aw, he's such a cutie....

So after lunch we went to the mall and left mom in the play area to keep an eye on Garret while we shopped for Lucas. We found so many cute things for the new baby!!! We had to put a few
things back on the rack, ah that was painful. Anyway, he is going to be a very fashionable little baby...only two more months..

So while we were checking out and paying for our stuff mom called on her cell phone....Garret kept escaping from the enclosed play area and she had to run him down and grabbed him by the shirt....lol....I wish I could have seen that....we made it back to Shelleys safe and sound and with Garret buckled into his car seat.

Christine and Marsha came over and we visited with them for a bit, always a pleasure. We got
home around 6:30....what a fun day....so
Happy Birthday to me.......again...
