Clint Eastwood stayed here.

While we were still in Tucumcari, NM, we went to the Route 66 gift shop that was located in what used to be an office for an old motel there. Apparently Clint Eastwood stayed there, when he was filming the tv series Rawhide, they even put a huge sign out front..lol. Next door to the gift shop was the wonderfully preserved old motel, the Blue Swallow, each motel room had it's own garage right next door, a brilliant idea, don't you think? The garages now have murals painted on the walls too. I would love to stay there, it felt like the 50's, all of the furniture, and the fountain, all original.
