Visit with my Texas (and Collinsville) family

My family came to visit from Texas (and Collinsville) today! My daughter, Shelley Yandell, son-in-law, Cary Yandell and my son, Darren Holsapple came with them from Collinsville,IL and spent the day with us. Of course, they brought those adorable grandsons too! We had pizza and brownies, and talked and laughed and shared lots of hugs...so very happy to see them again...I hated to see them go, but they have other family and friends to see while they are here in Illinois. Kent's new home.

Some of you wanted pictures of my brother, Kent's new home. He only moved in two weeks ago, but I thought he did a great job of decorating and getting it furnished. He did have help from a lady friend though, choosing furniture, curtains and such. I didn't take photos of the bedrooms, as we didn't take time to make our beds..lol..There is also a nice computer room, backyard and storage shed. The picture at the cabin was at the farm we were at yesterday for the eclipse. On the way home I had to end the day if a moon pie, of course. Hope you are all enjoying your Tuesday!

Eclipse 2017

What an amazing day! I took just these two photos (I know they don't look real, but they are, and not photo-shopped in any way) at totality, while eating pepperoni pizza at a beautiful farm in Kentucky. Bill, Kent and I, went to an eclipse party and had such a grand time. It was so strange and wonderful to watch the eclipse unfold. When it was completely dark, the crickets started chirping, the chickens ran into their roost, and the mosquitoes came out! Anyway, the people having the party (which are good friends with my brother, Kent) were playing songs like "Dark side of the moon" and Total eclipse of the heart, and some others, perfect! Hope you all had a fantastic day too.We are back home in Kinmundy now. Pictures of my brother and his house tomorrow!

Red Hat Chickadees at M&M Courtyard Cafe

I had lunch with my Red Hat sisters at the M&M Courtyard Cafe in Salem, IL. We had delicious quiche or chicken salad sandwiches with spinach/strawberry salad.....delicious! Everyone had a great time, as always. Most of us went back to Country Creek Treasures to do some shopping afterwards...I hope you all are having a great day!

Butterflies on my garden

It was 92% humidity when we got up this morning, around 80% now, so you can imagine how pleasant my morning walk was! Not a cloud in the sky either! The butterflies don't seem to mind though, one bright spot on this hot August day. Hope you all have a cool one!
