Happy Halloween...

Bill had his eye operated on last week.  He had a growth on his right eye..so we had to go back to Springfield, IL today for the doctor to check it out.  The doctor was pleased with the result, now it just needs to heal and will need some physical therapy to get the muscles working properly and to get it back to it's normal shape.  He is not in any pain now, just has a small problem with his vision, which will pass...So, we took some friends with us and we went to Springfield and then had lunch and went shopping...it was a nice day for Halloween...Cold, Rainy, Cloudy...I hope you all had a good day...

A great way to spend the last warm day before winter...

A beautiful fall day today, it got up to 78 degrees. We went to Chuck's place for lunch and stopped to visit some friends for a while. I did some crafting and spent time in my hammock. Just a perfect day, except for the huge orange transparent spider that was hanging up side down on the bottom of my hammock and she was loaded with eggs..eww! Eww! Eww! Hope you all enjoyed your day!
ALSO...for those of you that are not from the Salem, Illinois area, if you are ever in town, stop in at Chuck's Place..aka..Gary's Drive In..aka  Sills' Drive in...I have been going to this old time hamburger joint since the early 1960's...it still has some of the original signage, photos and memorabilia decorating the walls.  Here are a few pictures...it's a nice little jewel in our neighboring town..good times and good food.

 

Lunch with the Ladies of '67..

I had lunch with my ladies of '67 today, Pizza Man, yum. Didn't get a photo today, but it was a great time , as always.. I hope you all had a good day!

Lunch with my good friends and Game Day at the craft store..

I spent the morning at Carol's House, Rose Marie joined us too, how fun, just to catch up with each other, then we had lunch at Pizza man. I left them a little early  and went to GAME DAY at Country Creek Treasures in Salem, IL, so not only do we sell awesome gifts, antiques and crafts, but now we have entertainment as well.  . Today we played, checkers, Uno, Skipbo, Rummy, a dice game called Tenzi and Solitaire, how fun! This is open to the public, it's FREE, it is the 3rd Friday of each month from 2:00 til 4:00. Come join us! Sometimes there is Bingo with prizes!  There was just a few of us on this cold, rainy Fall day, lots of laughs though!

Winter is Coming and I'm not talking about Game of Thrones. :)

What a beautiful fall day! I made some more blueberry applesauce and spent some time in the swing..The air is full of the floating spider web strands that are always around this time of year , the hummingbirds are gone and cold days are coming! Hope you have all had a good one!

Halterman Reunion

We had a Halterman family dinner today, I really couldn't get a photo of everyone, we were all moving around and visiting. Wonderful food and so much of it. Bill says he won't need any food until Tuesday... :) Bill always enjoys time with his two brothers too, they are all such a fun bunch..nothing like family time....

Halloween Party with my Red Hat sisters

Another Halloween party with my Red Hat Sisters today, always so fun! I love how these ladies really get into the spirit of things. We had some little witches, A Spider lady, Wonder Woman, The Grimm Reaper, Auntie Samantha (Uncle Sam's wife), Skeleton lady, Mother Nature, a Book Worm and a woopie cushion.Then we played bingo and there were lots of prizes. Sure enjoyed the day! I hope you all have had a good Friday!

Renaissance Faire at Wentzville, MO

I had such a fun day with these 8 ladies at the Renaissance fair in Wentzville, MO today! We rented a van so we could all ride together, so much silliness followed...We saw the shows, ate some food, visited, laughed, bought things we didn't need, and got our day in, just as we were leaving, the storms came in and they were some strong ones too, lots of lighting all around us, thunder and torrential rain. We finally made it to Fairview Heights, where we stopped at Friday's and enjoyed some delicious food. Thank you to our dear friend Sue McCree Stein, who came along for the fun and also drove us and got us home safe and sound. Everyone loved our adventure and want to go back to another one.
