A day out in the winter sunshine at Carlyle Lake

The lake is kind of low, but it always is this time of year.

We had such a great day. It was 56 degrees and sunny, didn't even need a jacket most of the day. We went to Carlyle lake and spent hours walking along the beach in the sun doing some beach combing. We found drift wood, some "sea glass", a turtle shell and a penny...lol.. It was just beautiful. Stopped at the suspension bridge as well. We had planned on stopping by the Covered in Chocolate Desserts and deli, but they closed early today.. . It was getting dark when we got home, but saw hundreds of Canadian geese heading south...such a blessing to see so many of them. 56 today and will be 3 degrees in the morning...gotta love the Illinois weather...I hope you all had a great day!

There were so many geese filling the sky I couldn't get them all in one shot...a beautiful sight.
