The Annual Halloween Parade was held Oct. 28th, at Centralia, IL....Since I was wearing spiky heeled boots, we didnt' stand too long. A funny note: When Bill and I arrived at the parade, a group of people started pointing at us an applauding, because we were Pirates.....sometimes it's cool to be a pirate...ha ha..So, we went to the Poplar Place bar and grill where we ran into a few friends that we had worked with at World Color Press in Salem....
We watched the rest of the parade from the deck at the bar.
Here are a few characters we ran into ......
The band was great, some young guys in their early 20's.....they played a lot of alternative music, like Green Day, Jets.....and some oldies, like Footloose....and some George Thorougood.
The place was huge...there is a dining area at the front door, then down a flight of stairs and to this huge room. There were really lots of people dressed up for halloween, but didn't get many of them in this picture.....
This is Missy and she is does my hair, and that's why it always looks lovely...:-).....
All of the finalists for the best costume were young skinny girls with lots of flesh showing, obviously the judge was a 40 plus year old guy.......
This picture is blurred, but I loved the costume....he told me he was a........are you ready?......"One Night Stand"......bwahhh.
We ran into Rob and Kelly too. Kelly was dancing up a storm, but she took time to stop and get a picture with Bill. Hugs, Kelly, so good to see you.
We got home about 3:00 a.m., as we went for breakfast on our way home......some of our cohorts from the party were there too.... THE END
Welcome.....
To my world of the weird, the strange, the unexplained.........
no, I'm just kidding, this is a happy place......OK, maybe I am just a little weird.

The worst halloween costumes ever....according to my kids
Yo Ho Ho.........
So Saturday I made Bill try on his halloween outfit....I made him pose by trees and in bushes....after I took a few pictures he decided we needed some video. He was doing all kinds of hilarious things, because that's Just his nature........while we were taking the video someone in the neighborhood yelled out "Yo Ho Ho'.....seriously, it was hilarious.....we didn't know who it was and still don't......
I think Bill makes a great Pirate......
Here I am....
I haven't posted for a week because I was giving the Red hat ladies a chance to see our pictures and download them....
So what has happened this week?,,,Last Wednesday, mom had a doctor's appointment at Mt. Vernon. She had to go see a new heart doc, well, was he a cutie!!!...so we didn't mind the visit at all. It was just a check up anyway, and all was well with her heart. After, we went for lunch at Fazoli's and had our 4 cheese and tomatoe panini.....or as I like to call it, heart attack on a bun!....Then we went to the dollar store and had a grand time buying things we didn't need, everything was a dollar, so it didn' t matter if we needed it or not....it was just $1.00.....
Then we drove back to salem and had turtle cheesecake and coffee....I think I gained five pounds and lost $10.00....

Red Hat Pajama Party
Yes, Velvet and Linda, I said.."Pajama Party"!
So last night the Red Hatter's had a "slumber" party. We dress in pajamas, rented a room and played music and ate lots of junk food. It got a little boring, so we decided to go to this little bar down the road. It is in a town of about 200 people, so red neck city there...ha ha. We decided to go to this particular bar because one of our Red Hat ladies and her husband does the karaoeke thing for extra money on the weekends and she was working and couldn't attend our party. So about 10pm we marched right in there like we owned the place, boas, jammies and all (I decided to wear purple devil horns with mine). As we were walking by the crowd (and I think everyone in town was in there) someone said "Well, looky here"...seriously, they said looky...So we surprised our friend, Janet, who was glad to see us and we all got up and sang with the karaoke machine "Girls just want to have fun"..while all the ladies in the bar danced out on the dance floor. They all cheered and applauded when we were done, and "high-fived" us. Then we left the place dancing....
I don't know if they applauded because they liked our song or because we were leaving...
The bingo games following were a little more tame, but we laughed out asses off..
Wilma with her boy friend....McDermott
Pat, always so fashionable......leaving a trail of feathers.
Time for snacks....
Hey, Velvet!!!!
Me and mom.....still snackin'
A picture of the table Cathy and I worked on...
I bet Wilma's thinking, "I'm so cute"
Pat needs to wear bigger ear rings, so we can see them next time!
Say: "Karaoke"
Well, don't we just all look so happy!
A "depends" moment
And we ended the night at 1:00 a.m. with a little "Electric Slide"

A "beary" Happy Halloween from Garret
Mom and I visited Shelley and Garret today...Wow,has he grown!...he was extremely heavy while we were shopping for his Halloween costume....but was so good and was looking at all of the colors. Trouble with the sippy cup???
Yum....like I needed any extra calories.....Shelly made Spaghetti Pie and individual cheesecakes...we wanted some salad with the spaghetti...but afraid to eat anything green these days....icoli is just not my idea of fun....
Great Grandma giving Garret a horsey ride...well, he was actually jumping up and down...he's ready to roll...actually by the end of the day he had mastered the art of crawling,,,,,is this child a genius or what? What???? I'm the grandma so of course he is.
Here is Grandma....with Beary Garret......we'll he is just too adorable...
Here is a better view of the costume....with the bear face on top...
I think we need to take a few more pictures....
It was great to see you all again, Shelley....hope poor Cary is over the flu....

Rad Hatter's Tea Party - Halloween float
October 7th, the Ramblin' Roses Red hatters rode in the Halloween Parade (or Little Egypt Festoval, as we call it here.We decorated all morning and finally it looked like our theme: Mad Hatter's Tea Party.....
Here is mom sitting in the park before we got on the float. It was a beautiful day,
Ok, everybody, get on board....
We even had our own Mad Hatter, Kathy, with bunny suit and pink hat...
Riding along, throwing candie at the little ones. Once I threw a bag of skittles and hit some little kid in the head...sorry, kid!..
Here we are in front of the judges.
I'm waving at Bill as he took the pictures....it was a really fun day.
